Job Description (Volunteer Position)

Title: Childcare Assistant

Supervisor: Child Development Coordinator

Under the direction of the Child Development Coordinator, childcare assistants help with the supervision of the child development center during days or evenings on a weekly, monthly, or as-needed basis.   The CDC provides daycare for kids 5 and under.  Volunteers are responsible for the following:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Supervise Children
Provide a welcoming and creative environment
Initiate age appropriate activities and crafts
Adhere to MSW’s policies on instruction and discipline

Observation
Notify supervisor of unusual occurrences or worrisome trends with children and/or their mothers

Qualifications:
A basic understanding of child development
Experience working with children
Creative, dependable and punctual
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with MSW staff, clients and their children, and the general public
Ability to maintain confidentiality of clients and their children

Requirements:

People in recovery will need to have one continuous year of being clean and sober

Volunteers will be required to have a background check administered by MSW
