Job Description (Volunteer Position)  

Title:     Development Volunteer

Supervisor: Volunteer Coordinator or Development Staff  

Under the direction of the Volunteer Coordinator and other Development staff, development volunteer help raise community awareness and support for MSW through their organizational & fundraising skills. Volunteers may be involved in one or more of the following:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Special Events

• Logistics & preparations

Fundraising Appeals

• Produce mailings
• Phone calls
• Other solicitations

Writing

• Grants
• Newsletters

Organization

• Data entry
• Filing
• Other special projects

Qualifications:

• Experience with one or more element of fundraising
• Enjoy working with people
• Understanding of women’s issues
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with MSW staff members, clients & their children, and the general public
