Culinary Assistant Volunteer Job Description  

Title:     Culinary Assistant

Supervisor: Food Services Manager          

Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, the Culinary Assitant will help with preparing healthy and delicious meals on a daily or weekly basis. Volunteers are responsible for the following:

The kitchen at Marin Services for Women is a fast-paced 24/7 operation that prepares 150 meals daily to nourish the women and children in our residential and outpatient programs. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone who loves cooking or is looking for culinary experience. The days and times are flexible and weekends are a possibility.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in food preparation
• Dependable & punctual
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with MSW staff members, clients & their children, and the general public
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of clients & their children
• Volunteers 18 and older will be required to have a background check. See Human Resources and the Volunteer Coordinator for details.
• Volunteers under the age of 18 will be required to have a letter of recommendation from their school.
