Job Description (Volunteer Position)
Title: Childcare Leader
Supervisor: Child Development Coordinator
Under the direction of the Child Development Coordinator, childcare leaders assist with the supervision of the child development center on a weekly, monthly, or as-needed basis. Volunteers are responsible for the following:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise Children
- Provide a welcoming & creative environment for children in the center
- Adhere to MSW’s policies on instruction & discipline
Referral
- Notify supervisor of unusual occurrences or worrisome trends with children and/or their mothers
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children
- Dependable & punctual
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with MSW staff members, clients & their children, and the general public
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of clients & their children
- Volunteers 18 and older will be required to have a background check. See Human Resources and the Volunteer Coordinator for details.
- Volunteers under the age of 18 will be required to have a letter of recommendation from their school.
